My work is a series of tangible memories investigating human connectedness with nature, space, and objects. The root of my practice can be shared through things familiar. Everyday objects and encounters present themselves honest and beautiful spurring a need to gather each one. Whether for interest or love I archive these fleeting moments.

I chose materials that locate me in tradition and emphasize tactility. Painting is a record of my touch layered and preserved in time. The sewing machine takes hold, veiling my clumsy fingers nestling me safely as a beginner to the craft. It is a tool for creating objects that adorn our sacred places; body and home. Paper filled with fields of color is a reservoir of pieces. Through collage, it transforms into a repository of memory as I pin, cut, and form the pieces into a whole.

Utilizing floral motifs, patterns, and realism, the work studies the intrinsic dynamic of the natural world and human experience. Through combining geometric and organic forms I consider the chaos and serenity of both nature and our homes. Like nature we shift with each new phase, but the structure of our home holds fast, grounding us in times of reckless joy and deep sorrow.
